Indien, ein riesiges Land, über eine Milliarde Menschen leben hier.
Ich habe da auch mit meinen Eltern und meinen Geschwistern von 1989 bis 1999 gelebt. Mein Vater hat dort erst in Tirupati später in Kodaikanal gearbeitet, als Gesandter des evangelischen Missionswerkes Hildesheim.
Ich bin das einzige Kind, welches in Deutschland geboren ist, allerdings das erste, das seit 1999 wieder nach Indien reist!
Lange habe ich mit dem Gedanken gespielt eine Reise dorthin zu machen, sie oft weiter in die Zukunft verschoben, doch nun ist es soweit. Auch wenn meine Masterarbeit nicht fertig ist, ich reise!
Ich werde das Land neu entdecken, in dem ich die ersten Jahre meines Lebens verbracht habe und sicher die ein oder anderen Schauplätze meiner Kindheit wieder erkennen.
Ich freue mich besonders alte Freunde aus Indien wieder zu treffen! Durch de sozialen Netzwerke und die moderne Technik ist der Kontakt sehr einfach zu halten, doch "reallife" Kommunikation ist dann doch was anderes als Emojis und der small talk über Nachrichten.
Ich erhoffe mir vieles von Indien. Nicht nur das Wiedersehen, auch neues kennen zu lernen ist mir wichtig. Die religiöse und kulturelle Vielfalt des Landes sind beeindruckend und so hoffe ich etwas für mein späteres Leben mitnehmen zu können!

I too once lived there with my parents and siblings from 1989 to 1999. My father first worked in Tirupati and later in Kodaikanal, as a minister of the evangelic Mission Hildesheim.
I was the only child born in Germany, but now I am the first to travel back to India since 1999!
For a long time now I have been thinking of making a journey to India, at least as often I have moved it to the future, but now the time has finally come. Even though my masters thesis has been postponed, I will travel!
I will once again discover the country, in which I spent the first years of my life and dfinitely visit the one or other site of my childhood.
I am especially excited about meeting old friends! Thanks to the social media and modern thechnology you can stay in contact all the time, but "reallife" communication is definitely something entirely different than emojis and the small talk over messangers.
I expect alot from India. Not only to revisit places, but to learn new things is also a priority. The religious and cultural diversity are remarkable and so I hope to pick up a few experiences for my professional life later on!
